Finn, the Pirate Kitten and YouTube Superstar

In late September 2019, Kotor Kitties received a standard message: a tiny kitten with very sticky eyes had been found under a bridge in Kotor. His rescuers, Ryan and Brittni were brilliant – they had already taken him to the vet where Feline Herpes was identified and treated with antibiotics. They wanted to know if Kotor Kitties could rehome him.

There are too many cats and too few homes in Montenegro so it’s extremely hard to find new homes for all the babies that are born. Instead, we offered some advice.

Ryan and Brittni were living on a sailboat with their German Shepherd dog Jackson, travelling around the Mediterranean. They became very attached to the kitten who they named Finn and they made a decision to take him with them!

Ryan and Brittni have a YouTube channel, Sailing Sunday, which documents their adventures in weekly instalments. Our volunteer reported “Often when I provide advice about a cat, I never know what happens with them. Finn is different - I see him every week – he’s hilarious. He zooms about his sailboat, tries to climb the mast and has regular play fights with his big brother Jackson.”
