If, like many of us, you’re a little fuzzy as to what lies between Italy, Hungary and Greece, or why you should consider a vacation in Montenegro, please read on!

Montenegro has become a “hot” vacation market, much like its northern neighbor, Croatia. The food is delicious and cheap; the people are delightful, and the scenery, especially along the coast, is to die for!

During the peak tourist season, from June until mid-September, small but comfortable apartments can rent from $25 per night and up. Small rental cars run $22-$27 per day, with discounts given for longer bookings.

If you decide to visit outside of the main “tourist season”, the prices can drop significantly:  before COVID struck, small newer cars were renting from 9 euros per day on up. The price included unlimited miles, the basic mandatory insurance, and the card needed to cross borders with the car.

Can’t you picture yourself in Montenegro for a week or two? And then travel south through Albania to Greece, or north through Croatia to Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, or Italy. Perfect vacation, right?
